Let me start by saying that this will be a lot different than my other writing here…
After nearly 10 years, my 1992 Acura Integra GS-R is finally home. Well, my home. Not my family’s home like it was. Ironically, I feel like I’ve also hit my limit for…everything else.
From Monterey, California to Black Forest, Colorado is a little over 1,300 miles according to Google Maps. Of course, no roadtrip is actually the same number of miles. Especially when I’m behind the wheel. I like to wander. Much like the things you read from me here or watch on my personal YouTube.
If you’re like me, the wandering that your mind does is a love/hate relationship. Some days it’s what makes me amazing. Others, it’s what I despise about myself. I’m probably some for of alphabet soup (ADHD, OCD, ADD, LOLWTFBBQ), but I’ve never been officially diagnosed.
Maybe it’s one of those tasty letter combinations that also causes me to procrastinate beyond what most people would think is possible. Then again, that’s probably the root of the tenacity that allows me to push through things that most people won’t bother with. I am hoping the latter is the side of me that this roadtrip to pick up my Integra kicks off over the next few months.
In the first episode I camped on the shores of Lake Tahoe, drove the Loneliest Road in America, and somehow managed to get a car that hasn’t been started in almost a decade relocated from buried in 6 inches of dirt to my driveway four states away.
Then, it died again. That check engine light lifestyle is persistent, isn’t it?
